John Ellis, [Elles] 82, of Zabcikville, died Monday in a Temple, Texas hospital after a short illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Brethren Church with James Parks officiating.
He was born in Hostalkova Czechoslovakia and lived in the
Zabcikville area most of his life.
He is survived by his widow Mary Janacek Macek Ellis of Temple.

In 1939 Mr Ellis received painful and severe burns on his hands, arms, and face while at work in his garage soldering a small gasoline tank...even though beforehand he had washed and rinsed the tank thoroughly. Fortunately his eyes were not harmed. He was not able to work for a while, but he had a very good assistant auto mechanic on whom he relied.
