daughter of Daniel Stottlemyer 1828-1899 and Elizabeth Harshman 1834-1893. Annie is listed as Sarah Ann Marie on pg. 22 of "Our Maryland Heritage book 11 - The Stottlemyer Families". Luther and Annie moved from the Foxville area of Frederick County MD in 1899 with their 8 children to Preble County OH. There they had 2 more children, Richard I b. 1903 and Anna Lou b. 1906. They owned a farm on the western edge of Gasper Twp around 1912 but later retired from farming (around 1920) and Annie and Luther moved into the home of their daughter Anna (Brown) and Lloyd Lane in Gratis for the remainder of their days.

Mrs. Annie Brown of 411 East Wadsworth street, Eaton, passed away at her residence Thursday night, after an illness of two months duration. She was 93 years old and the widow of Luther I. Brown.
A member of the Gratis Methodist Church, Mrs. Brown was a native of Hagerstown Maryland, and came to Ohio in 1899. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945.
Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Mable Simpson of College Corner rural route, Mrs. Emma Doty of Dayton, Mrs. Helen Hendrickson of Dayton, and Mrs. Anna Lane of Gratis; three sons; Clyde Brown of Eaton rural route, Roscoe Brown of Eaton rural route, and Richard Brown of New Paris rural route; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Barnes Funeral Home on Monday at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Irvin R. Miller of the Sugar Valley Methodist church in charge. Burial was in Mound Hill Cemetery.
