Charity W. Giles
Charity W. Giles nee Benight passed away at Mary Lanning hospital, Hastings, Nebr., July 24, 1951, after a severe stroke.
Mrs. Giles was an Adams county girl having been born northwest of Brooks and spent most of her life near Hastings, Nebr. At the time of her passing, she was 60 years, 11 months and 2 days.
She was married to Herbert S. Giles of Hansen, Nebr., in 1908. Three sons were born to this union, Wayne, of Atlanta, Ga.; Melvin of Arapahoe, Nebr.; and Harley of Lincoln, Nebr.
They were all at the bedside when passing came. Everything that loving hearts and hands could do was done. She was a cherished woman by all who knew her, for her outstanding Christian life and thoughtfulness to all. She will be very much missed by the three daughters-in-law and six grandchildren whom she enjoyed very much.
Beside her immediate family she leaves to mourn her two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Harned of Indianola, Iowa; and Mrs. Julia Richey of Nodaway, Iowa.
Services were conducted at the Presbyterian church at Hastings, Nebr. July 26, and laid to rest at the Parkview cemetery there.
Those from a distance attending the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Truxton Routh of Kearney, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Seth Peas, of Shenandoah, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Richey, Corning, Iowa; Mrs. Amanda Hunter and Mrs. Velma Routh of Carbon, Iowa; Mrs. Julia Richey, Nodaway, Ia. Sincere sympathy is extended from many friends.
