"...two Hampton brothers, C E Gibson and William J Gibson, Jr were pronounced dead at scene of accident in Suffolk... the accident occurred when the truck driven by William Gibson veered into oncoming traffic, sideswipped a car and ran off the road into a tree."

"William J Gibson, Jr, 67, a native of Laurinburg, NC and 50 year resident of Peninsula, died Tuesday Nov 26, 1991 off Rt 10 in Suffolk.

"Mr Gibson retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1986 as a cost engineer after 44 years of service. He was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, SS director, and teacher. He was a Navy veteran of WW 2 and a 1948 graduate of Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice school.
