Dick Heumann, a native of California and a 21-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died April 6, 2010, at home. He was 78.
He was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Pasadena to Henry and Margaret Heumann. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War.
Dick was an avid woodworker and master handyman, worked for Morongo Unified School District at Twentynine Palms High School as a noon supervisor and he was "grandpa" to many of the kids. He served with the Twentynine Palms Citizen Patrol for 15 years and volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce for several years.
He was loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he is terribly missed!
