Delilah Breech was born December 25, 1852 in Catawissa. She was the fourth child of Jacob and Rebecca Leiby Breech. She was injured in a childhood accident at the Orangeville Orphan School, which left her permanently crippled. She was placed in the Orphan School after her father died on the last day of the Civil War (Jacob was a Union soldier). She entered the Orphan school on November 7, 1866 and was discharged on May 31, 1868, at age 16.
She was admitted to the Bloomsburg Hospital on April 25, 1942, and passed away April 29, 1942.
