The marker in Cedar Hill Cemetery is a remembrance of him. According to the military, initially his actual burial site was "unknown....somewhere in France", but according to later military records, his burial site is indicated on the card which is posted on his FAG memorial.
He was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government in 1919.
Later, the military indicated that he is buried in France in: "Grave #1, Sec. N, Plot 1, American B/A Cty., Fismes, Marne".
But the link below indicates the site where he is buried in France in the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery:
https://www.abmc.gov/decedent-search/kyle%3Dthomas
It indicates that he is buried in Plot C, Row 1, Grave 4.
ALSO SEE MEMORIAL ID #: 56638469. This is for the cemetery and memorial in France. (This is not a duplicate memorial, but a second different memorial for the same person).
