Born on the donation land claim of his grandparents Henry "King" Lemuel Hibbard and Nancy Craig Brisbin. Due to a life and death struggle against tuberculosis, he moved to the drier region of Harney County. In his lifetime he ranched, diaried, run cattle and practiced dentistry.

In 1903, he was credited with bringing in the 1st herd of Jersey cows to Oregon.

Son of King Lemuel Hibbard and Julia Griffith.
