Lilah Mae Tiedeman, 85, of Crookston, MN, died in her home Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Lilah was born at Crookston on October 20, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Vella (Burkhardt) Menard. She attended grade school at St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1945. While in high school, Lilah worked at Eagle Drug. She was later employed at the First National Bank and then in the Crookston office of the Minnesota State Highway Department, where she met her future husband, Ervin "Hap" Tiedeman. The couple married on April 26, 1950, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception rectory, and made their home in Crookston, raising three boys. Lilah later worked for the Minnesota Bean and Pea Co. and American Crystal Sugar Company, as well as, being a caregiver to her parents. Sadly, Hap passed away on March 5, 1975. Lilah was a member of the Cathedral parish and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She also held memberships in the American Legion and Eagles auxiliaries, where she did a lot of volunteering, as well as, being a "grandma" to a lot of her friends' grandchildren.

Lilah is survived by her 3 sons, 2 granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Lilah was preceded in death by her husband, Hap; her parents, Albert and Vella; two brothers, Joseph Burke Menard and Frederick (Fritz) Menard; sister, Harriet Hendrickson; and sister-in-law, Madonna (Donna) Menard. May God bless Lilah's memory.

Visitation will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7PM prayer service. Visitation will continue from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Vincent Miller presiding. Interment will be later this spring in Calvary Cemetery, Crookston.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given in Lilah's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
