Andrew P. Nelson of 821 Jackson Avenue, died Sunday evening at his home after a years suffering following a stroke of paralysis. He was born at Morks, Denmark, Feb. 18, 1839 and spent his early life at Holbrook, not far from the place of his birth. At the age of 20 years he came to this country, where he located on a farm in Minnesota. He later moved to Franklin Grove, Ill., where he was married to Minnie F. Kohl; eldest daughter of August F. and Caroline Kohl. For the past 20 years he has been a resident of Dixon and an employee of the Borden Condensory Company, where he was a friend of everyone.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, four sons; Frank L. of South Bend, Oregon; Edward A. of Dixon, Ill.; and Arthur W. and Herman C. both of Rock Island, Ill.; and one daughter, Mrs. C.S. Wilson of Dixon.
While residing here he was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, living up to the ideals of a Christian life.
The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, June 11, Rev. Kenneth Hurst officiating. The remains were taken to the Franklin Grove cemetery for burial.
