Robert Sterling Forbush, age 76, passed away March 22, 2013 in Torrance, California, following a valiant battle with cancer. He was born August 27, 1936 in Monroe, Utah to Ray and Ruth Marie Jepsen Forbush. He married Su-Chueh Chen in Taiwan in 1974.

Robert grew up in Monroe and graduated from South Sevier High School in1954 and helped South Sevier win State in basketball that year.

After high school, he attended Snow College in Ephraim. He joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and retired in 1982 as a Chief Master Sergeant. He then worked at Northrop Grumman in Hawthorne, CA as a program administrator from1982 until retiring from there in 2004.

After his retirement from the Air Force, he didn't slow down. His zest for life was expressed in many activities and hobbies, among them were archery, basketball, hiking, pets, camping, gardening, distance running, cycling, archery, listening to his beloved radio talk shows and was an avid reader.

He was a regular participant with the Huntsman Senior Basketball Team. He never missed an opportunity to tell a great joke, for he loved to see everyone with a smile on their face. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother; and a great neighbor and friend.

Survivors include his wife of Torrance, CA; daughter, Catherine Forbush of Santa Ana; siblings, Richard D. (Inita) Forbush of Port Angeles, WA, Connie (Tim) Christensen of Richfield; and other close family members. Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Dianne Young.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery with military rites by the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard.
