Mrs. Annette Clarke Dies in Newkirk
Newkirk, Okla. - Mrs. Annette G. Clarke, widow of Fred C. Clarke, nationally known baseball figure, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Neal Sullivan, here.

Mrs. Clarke, who had been in failing health for several months, while maintaining the home 12 miles north or Winfield. "Little Pirate Ranch" had been living with her two daughters, Mrs. D. J. Donahou at Ponca City and Mrs. Sullivan at Newkirk. She had been seriously ill the past month.

Born in Chicago, Feb. 10, 1879, she was the daughter of John and Helen Gray. She married Fred C. Clarke July 5, 1898, in Chicago. They lived in Pittsburgh while clarke was left fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates and managed the team, spending thier winters on the ranch north of Winfield. Clarke died Aug. 14, 1960.

Survivors include the two daughters, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Clarke was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held in the Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, preceded Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. with the rosary in the Swisher-Taylor Chapel. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in Winfield beside her husband.
