GIBSON CITY — Ida R. Pretzlaff, 101, Gibson City, died at 6:29 a.m. Sunday (March 25, 2007) at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibson City, with the Rev. David Pavesic officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. before the service.
Mrs. Pretzlaff was born May 26, 1905, in McLean County, a daughter of Lambert and Augusta Beecher Brethorst. She married George C. Pretzlaff in Anchor. He died April 25, 1979.
Surviving are three daughters, Norene (Bob) Kirkpatrick, LeRoy; Barbara (John) Marshall, Danvers; and Judy Marshall, Champaign; a son-in-law, Stanley Leonard, Gibson City; eight grandchildren, Debra Carr, Vicki Reiners, Jodi Patton, Steve Kirkpatrick, Kathy Segerstrom, Kristin Marshall, Karla Rogers and Kim Kaufman; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; one daughter, Phyllis Leonard; and three grandchildren, Teresa Eisenberg, Tim Marshall and Scott Marshall.
She lived on the family farm until March of 1960. She worked as a nurse's aid at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City.
She was a member of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibson City, the Scotland Club and Ladies Aid.
She loved to quilt and made them for every member of the family. She also enjoyed baking, especially pies, and she loved to garden.
Memorials may be made to the American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibson City. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge arrangements.
