Dale Alford Shook, Sr., 91, of Wichita Falls, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at City View Baptist Church with Rev. John Otley, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Jay Martin and Mary Anna (Hamilton) Shook, he was born April 15, 1921 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School. On December 25, 1940, he married Nora Elizabeth "Betty" Rushing. They were married 66 years until her passing in 2006. Dale served our country proudly in the United States Army during WWII and Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of City View Baptist Church, and served on the City View School Board from 1958 until 1991. Dale owned and operated Stuckey Construction for over 30 years, and was later employed with Zack Burkett for 23 years. A devoted Christian man, and loving husband and father, Dale always made sure his family was taken care of. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Velma Johnston; a brother, Ralph Shook; and his grandson, Austin Land.

He is survived by his three children, Goldie Posey and husband Clayton of Wayne, Oklahoma, Dale Shook, Jr. and wife Jane of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Vivian Lea Land and husband Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his brother, Clarence W. Shook and wife Tonya of Snyder; seven grandchildren, Jay Dale Posey, Nathan Posey, Eyon Land, Joy Funderburk, Andrew Land, Bradley Dale Shook, and Mae Elizabeth Watkins; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
