Ethel Rae Van Beek was born February 22, 1943 near Inwood, IA, daughter of Ralph and Effie (Maassen) Van Ginkel.
Ethel married John Van Beek on September 20, 1962 at Rock Valley. After living in Rock Valley, they farmed near Alvord, IA for 30 years. In 1995 they moved back to Rock Valley.
Ethel was a nurse's aid at Valley Manor and later at Hegg Memorial Hospital where she enjoyed helping the residents and patients.
Ethel died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley, IA.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John; 4 sons, Kevin (Lori) of Alvord, IA, Kurt (Aniiette) of Rock Valley, Doug (Kathy) of Doon, Dustin (Jodi) of Rock Valley; daughter, Twila (Rod) De Kam of Rock Valley; brother John (Jeanette) Van Ginkel of Rock Valley; sisters Gertrude (William) Vande Stouwe, Roevina (Gilbert C.) Hoogendoom all of Rock Valley; sister-in-law, Hermina Van Ginkel of Inwood; 14 grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Renae Van Beek; granddaughter Jennifer Van Beek; parents Ralph and Effie Van Ginkel; brother, Everett Van Ginkel.
