Funeral services for Calvin Walker Fenton. 40, were held Monday at 1:00 p.m. In the First-Fifth Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Paul Blackhurst of the Pleasant Grove First Ward.
Mr. Fenton died at 8:15 a.m. Friday in a Salt Lake City hospital of pneumonia, after a long illness.
Speakers at the impressive services were Pastor Ronald Leach and Lewis J. Harmer. Bishop Paul Blackhurst gave closing remarks of solace and inspiration.
E. Dee Olpin, Winslow Christensen, Joann Brady and Jean Walker sang the mixed quartet number, "Abide With Me." The singers were accompanied by Diane Christensen.
Mae Degn sang the soprano number, "The Lord's Prayer." She was accompanied by Pat Leach. Prelude and postlude were played by Pat Leach.
Family prayer was led by Richard Fenton, Thomas Fenton Jr. asked the invocation and the benediction was pronounced by Leonard S. Walker. The grave in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Harry S. Richards.
Pallbearers were Don W. Fenton, Ray W. Fenton, Michael Fenton, Jeffery Fenton, Marvin King, and Dewain Davis. Flowers were cared for by the First Ward Relief Society.
Calvin Fenton was born June 2, 1925 in Pleasant Grove to Thomas N. and Ethel Walker Fenton. Married Lillian Norm April 21, 1946. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He worked, at Geneva Steel Co. as a Corporate inspector.
Survivors include his widow, sons, daughters, Michael, Jeffery, Timothy. Kristine, Rebecca, Orem; brothers, sisters, Don W., Ray, Pleasant Grove; sisters, Mrs. Forest (Elaine) Smith, Pleasantville, Calif.; Mrs. R. T. (Beth) Stephans, Provo; father, Pleasant Grove.
