He was born December 21, 1920 to Lula Minette Abate and Joe Abate and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a member of Forest Park Methodist Church. He will be remembered for his sweet spirit and gentle nature. He loved babies, toddlers, animals and bingo and the casinos. He lived his life to the fullest while able to do so. Never having children of his own, he helped to raise and support four nieces and a nephew, which he loved dearly. He has many nieces and nephews all the way to being a great great great uncle. He cherished them all.
He served in the United States Army during WWII as a medic. He worked as a pipefitter for Local 195 until his retirement. Tony served as the resident council president at Summer Place from 2009 -2010. A role in which he took seriously and enjoyed very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Abate, sister Dora Evelyn Trahan, nieces Shirley Johns and Gloria Miller.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas.
