George Kemp was born in Middletown, Ohio, September 13, 1844. He was united in marriage to Mary A. Pottenger of Ohio, the the year 1874. During the same year he united with the U. B. church of New Haven, Ohio. He with his family, later moved to Indiana where he resided until his death. After moving to Indiana he transferred his membership to the Separate Baptist church of Pleasant Grove, of which he remained a faithful member until his death.
During his illness he was very patient and was ready to go when the final summons came. He departed this life December 17, 1910, at the age of sixty-six years, three months and four days. He left behind him a wife and two children, Mrs. Elva Crafton and Mrs. Elizabeth Kelley, and one sister Mrs. Agnes K Grigsby of Portland, Oregon to mourn his departure.
