Betty Jean Rice, 52, of Route 2. Jonesville, S.C. died Saturday, December 26, 1987 in a Spartanburg, S.C. hospital.

A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was the wife of the late William Ernest Rice.

She was survived by a daughter, Teresa Albee of Jonesville; a son, Larry Rice of Mars Hill, N.C.; a sister, Mary Black of Germany; a brother, James Black of Germany; a granddaughter and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1987 in Old Bull Creek Baptist Church in Mars Hill, N.C. where she was a member. The Rev. Clifford Cable officiated. Burial was in Metcalf-Bruce Cemetery in Marshall, N.C. Capps Funeral Home in Mars Hill, N.C. handled arrangements.
