On March 17, 2013, Steven Homer Bailey quietly and peacefully slipped through the veil into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. "You have suffered much for my sake- now you shall find rest."

Steve was born Sept 22 1955 in Logan Utah. He grew up in Wellsville where he loved and participated in many sports and scouting activities. Living in the country he enjoyed milking the cows, horse back riding, and taking care of his paper route responsibilities. It was at age 15 while Steve was delivering his papers during a snowstorm that he was hit by a semi-truck. Suffering extensive physical and brain injuries, Steve's recovery was slow. He spent many years in rehabilitation facilities under the care of professional caretakers. From then on he was cared for by his loving parents and family, and the wonderful staff at REM and JST group homes.

Steve loved to read, listen to music, and watch Dateline and his favorite TV game show programs. He loved phoning family and friends and receiving letters and notes from others. Above all Steve had a passion for bowling and loved to "out strike" his brothers and Dad. He loved to eat out if only to flirt with and wink at the waitresses. Steve always had a smile for everyone and his quick wit and his sense of humor had others smiling with him. Everyone that knew him could recognize that "twinkle in his eye" that said he was up to a little bit of mischief.

He looked forward to his home visits during the weekends and holidays. His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas, but he loved the Wellsville Founders Day celebration where he could socialize with the people he loved and grew up with.

Steve was employed by Enable Industries where he was a valued employee and friend.

He was a member of the LDS church, and though he wasn't able to attend church as much as he liked, he never failed to pay his tithing or say his prayers.

He is survived by his parents, Homer and Valoy Bailey, and his two brothers, Mike and Jeff Bailey. He is preceded in death by his brother Russell Cloyd Bailey.

A small family and friends viewing will be held from 11:30 to 12:30pm, followed by the funeral service at 1 pm at the Allen Hall Mortuary on Friday, March 22. Burial will be at the Wellsville Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.allenmortuaries.net
