Verda M. Roberts, 92, of Farmington, formerly of Bryant, passed away at 10:05 PM on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on July 15, 1925 in rural Knox County, IL to Orval and Marie (Buck) Toomer. She married Donald L. Roberts on April 22, 1944 in Lewistown, IL, he preceded her in death on August 16, 2007.
Also preceding in death are her parents; son, Don Roberts; brother, Bill Toomer; sister, Dorothy Grigsby; grandson, Neil Roberts.
Surviving are two children, Sheldon (Marie) Roberts of Smithfield, Verda J. Roberts of Farmington; daughter-in-law, Carol Roberts; four grandchildren, Ann Riccioni, Jennifer Roberts, Teresa Roberts, Joe Roberts; six great-grandchildren, Spencer Henderson, Hunter Henderson, Aly Roberts, Randy Williams, Emily Williams, Erica Riccioni; one great-great-grandchild, Amethyst Williams; and one sister, Mary Sill.
Verda loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Bryant Christian Church for 70 years.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10 AM to service time. Rev Jon Dainty Jr. will officiate. Burial will take place at Maryville Cemetery in Bryant, IL. Memorials can be made to Farmington Rescue Squad or Maryville Cemetery.
