Mr. Bell was a native of Stone County, MS, and was retired from the VA Facility in Biloxi. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Biloxi. He served his church as Senior Deacon, trustee, and secretary/treasurer, and was former president of the Men's Brotherhood.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Doyle Bell; a sister, Marlene Shaw; and three brothers, Clyde Bell, Aden Bell and Buford Bell. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Claudia M. Bell of Biloxi; a son, Kevin Bell of Woolmarket; three daughters, Claudie DePew of Gulfport, Darly V. Helm of D'Iberville and Kelly S. McDaniel of Saucier; a brother, J.C. Bell of Collins; a sister, Clara Hickman of Gulfport; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight (Saturday) at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel in Gulfport, followed by burial in Biloxi Creek Church Cemetery in Stone County.
The family prefers memorials to Temple Baptist Church, 1860 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
