My Sweet Melinda was my sister-in-law, although her brother was my ex-husband, she was always a member of my family. We shared the same birthday and celebrated together for many years. She always said that I was her "only sister-in-law". She attended school in Oildale and graduated from North High School in 1960. Her family moved to Fresno in 1962. Melinda retired from Fresno city Schools, where she made many friends. Her neighbors loved her. She never married, but she was the best auntie that a kid could ever have. She will be forever missed by her niece, Debra Butler, and nephew, David Butler. They loved their Auntie Melinda.
Melinda was always a happy lady, with a good since of humor. The last time I spoke with her, a few days before her passing, she was laughing about herself.
We shall miss our precious Melinda, and know that she is singing "It's a Small World" with the Angels .
