Funeral services for LaDell Bynum, 80, of Texarkana, Texas, will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Tim Montgomery and Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Bynum was born June 26, 1932 in Angelina County, Texas, to the late Annie (Bond) and Sam Billingsley. She died Monday, March 18, 2013 at her residence in Texarkana.
Mrs. Bynum was retired from K-Mart. She was a former longtime resident of the Lufkin area. Mrs. Bynum had been a member of the Allentown Baptist Church where she was very active in the Children's Church and the Puppet Ministry. She was currently a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Texarkana. Mrs. Bynum's love of gardening was very evident in her beautiful yard and her produce-lined pantry.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, LaJune and Charles Yates, Deniece and Frank McCarty; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Genny Bynum, and Bill and Donna Bynum; grandchildren, Randy Yates, Annie Witt, Becky Bynum, Melody Henderson, Jason Bynum, Daniel Bynum and Josh Bynum; stepgrandchildren, Brandon Leeds, Celeste Boggs and Ben Ballard; twelve great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Denise Billingsley; sister, Ruby Roberts; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Bynum in death were her husband, Eli Bynum, Jr., and great grandson, Jordan Bynum.
