"BENNETT. Mrs. Peter Bennett died at her home in North Burgess on Friday March 26th at the age of 75 years. After an illness of four weeks with great suffering from heart trouble. Her maiden name was Mary McGinnis and she was born in the county Down, Ireland, on Feb. 2nd, 1840. She came to this country with her parents with her parents when she was two years old. She was married to Mr. Peter Bennett of North Burgess, on March 7, 1859, and she settled on the farm where she died. Besides her husband she is survived by seven sons and two daughters, Patrick of Perth, Frank of Smiths Falls, Peter of Westport, Michael, John, Bernard, Arthur, Bridget and Margaret at home, and three daughters are dead, Mrs. James Haughian, Mrs. James Smith, and Mrs. Jack Linahan. The late Mrs. Bennett was Catholic in Religion, and a member of St. Bridget's, Stanleyville. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from her late residence, to St. Bridget's Church, thence to the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Her six sons were pall bearers."
