Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Molly Agnes Harris Revels for over 68 years and was the son of the late James Mack Revels and Dora Mae Cash Revels.
Mr. Revels worked at Cone Mills in Cliffside, N.C. and later became a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and camper and was a member of Stateline Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are his daughters, Syldia R. Dedmond and Janice R. McDowell (Danny) of Gaffney and Lynda R. Luttrell of Inman; sons, Aaron Revels (Peggy) of Chesnee, Odell Revels, Jr. and Rev. J. Darrell Revels (Sheila) of Gaffney; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Lula Mae Tennyson (Leon) of Spartanburg, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Stateline Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Revels, Rev. Kris Showen and Rev. Rob McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Stateline Baptist Church Cemetery.
