RUSHVILLE — Oscar H. Love Jr., a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away March 18, 2013, in Rushville.

He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Rushville to Oscar H. Sr. and Helen Bernice (Gordon) Love. Oscar was a 1945 graduate of Milroy HIgh School. He married Esther McFarland March 5, 1958; she preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2010.

Oscar joined the US Marine Corps shortly after high school. He was a World War II veteran.

He worked 25 years for Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Arlington Christian Church. Oscar was an avid coin collector and a huge IU fan.

He is survived by sons, Mark and wife Kristina Love of Shelbyville and G. Scott Love and companion Brenda Williams of Rushville; daughters, Teresa and husband Bill Craven and Penny and husband Eric Pike, all of Rushville; a brother, Jack and wife Elsie Love of Jeffersonville; a sister, Judith and husband Ron Haywood of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, Oscar was preceded in death by a daughter, Jayne Ann Love (twin to Teresa); a sister, Janet Lee; and a brother, David.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Ray Sweet III will preside and burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Rush County. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
