Max Austin Warren, 83, died at 3:41 AM Friday, June 29, 2001, in St. Mary Healthcare, where he had resided since January 1997. Born Nov. 15, 1917, at Crawfordsville, he was a graduate of Waveland High School and had been a Lafayette resident since 1930s. He He married Mary Ann Cooper on Dec. 16, 1939, and she died Sept. 8, 1994.

Mr. Warren was retired from the shipping department of Ross Gear and Tool Co. (now TRW Commercial Steering Systems). He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Battle Ground Masonic Lodge 313 F&AM. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Surviving are three daughters, Louanne (& Donald) O'Connor of Monticello, Judith (& Peter) Dykhuizen of Lafayette, and Marilyn (& Douglas) Hufnagle of Sagamore Hills, OH; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
