Peggy Jane Merrifield Orr, 80, widow of Thomas Foster Orr, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. She was a daughter of Ace Clifford and Edith Lois Thomas Merrifield.

Formerly of Pensacola, Fla., and Dalzell, she was born April 21, 1927, in Alhambra, Calif.

Mrs. Orr is survived by her life partner, David Kiester Cox; children, JoAnne Smith, Maria Roman, Patricia Garnett, Thomas Pisciotta, Caroline Klages, Barbara Pitts and Timothy Orr; siblings, Robin Jennings, Robert Merrifield, Bonnie Weiss, Susie Niseley and LaRue Merrifield; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Her eldest daughter, Jane Michelle Pisciotta Echiogu, preceded her in passing on 6 Sept 2006.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the Audubon Society.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
