Vietnam: Commander of 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. Silver Star. Distinguished Flying Cross.

Commander of the Second Regiment of the U.S. Cadet Corps, 1968–1969.

Commander of U.S. Army Readiness Region VI at Fort Knox. Commander of U.S. Army Training Center at Fort Jackson. Commander of Fifth Army (United States Army North) at Fort Sam Houston.
