High School Senior Succumbs After Three Weeks Illness -Funeral Will Be Here Tomorrow


Eldridge Boyd Gilmore, 17 year old Carthage High School senior and son of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Gilmore of Morgan Heights, died at 12:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Gilmore residence from meningitis, which developed following the flu.
He was born March 19, 1911 in Carthage,. He had received all his education in the Carthage schools and was a member of this year's graduating class. He had a fine school spirit and was well loved by all of his schoolmates. He became ill about three weeks ago and had been suffering from meningitis about seven days.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, George D. Gilmore, Jr. and two sisters, Virginia C. Gilmore of the home and Mrs. Ralph Baird of Carthage; his grandmother Virginia Gilmore of Carthage, and the following aunts and uncles; Ralph Gilmore and Thomas Gilmore, Mrs. Mary Palmer and Miss Kate Gilmore all of Carthage; and Grover Gilmore of Long Beach, CA., N. D. Parker of Verona, MO., Mrs. C. N. Nay of Eureka Springs, AR. and Mrs. Amos Dort of Hillboro, IL.
Funeral services held at Ulmer-Drake Funeral home. Dr. James McCaughtry, pastor of the Aurora Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial in Park Cemetery.
