Mary R. Threet, 76, of Harrisburg passed away at 11:14 AM, Friday, March 15, 2013 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Mary was born on May 16, 1936, in Saline County to the late Pleas and Margie (Layman) Furlong. On January 15, 1955, she married Otis Threet and he survives. Mary drove a school bus for eighteen years for the Oxford, Michigan school district, and drove eight years for Rides Mass Transit in Saline County.
Surviving family members include her husband: Otis Threet of Harrisburg; son: Douglas (Denise) Threet of Bedford, IN; granddaughter: Melissa (Nick) McDowell of Elizabethtown, IL; grandson: Derek (Crystal) Threet of Davison, MI; granddaughter: Tayler Threet; three great-granddaughters: Briley McDowell, Kalea Threet, and Calie Threet; three great-grandsons: Travis McDowell, Derek Threet Jr., and Sebastian Threet; sister: Velma Furlong of Harrisburg; two brothers: Pleas (Oneda) Furlong of Harrisburg, Lowell (Linda) Furlong of Harrisburg; several nieces, nephews, many friends, and special friends: Chesta and Tom Alexander and Lora Mae White.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: John, Luke, Hubert, Bill, and Bob Furlong.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. G.E. Coultas will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Monday, March 18, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
