Mrs. Catherine Ward Lister, 74, of 2101 State Park Road, died Thursday, March 19, 1992 at her home following a period of declining health.
Born October 25, 1917 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Cicero and Letha Gilbert Ward and lived all of her life in Greenville.
Mrs. Lister was a member of Perry Road Wesleyan Church and the Ladies Bible Class of the Sunday School. She taught the Matron's Class for many years and served as Youth Leader, Training Union Director and church clerk.
Surviving are her husband, Alton C. Lister; a daughter, Miss Elaine Lister of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, J. David and Lois Lister of Piedmont; and two grandchildren, James and Joel Lister.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Winnie W. Watson and Mrs. Annie W. Kestner, and two brothers, Monroe Ward and Jim Ward.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home with burial in Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Perry Road Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 710 Perry Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
The family is at the residence.
