Palm Desert, CA: On Friday, August 5, 2011 at age 88. Loving husband and father. Predeceased by his parents, Sophia and Joseph. Survived by his wife, Rose; daughter Donna and son Sanford (Diane), brother Stanley (Sue); nieces and nephews.

Colonel Friedman was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. His first mission was on D-day and his 24th and last was on Oct. 7, 1944 when he was wounded. He continued his flying with the reserves until his retirement from service in 1974 as a full colonel.

Full military honors were held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Contributions may be made to the Fighting 493rd BG Memorial Association, P.O. Box 50445, Sparks, NV 89435 in Honor of Colonel Friedman.
