"Funeral Services For Mr. Simmons Held At Chapel"
Funeral services for the late Jefferson Davis Simmons, aged 85 years, were held from the chapel of the Jones Funeral Home Saturday afternoon last week. Burial was in Pinal Cemetery.
The services were conducted by the Rev. R.O. Douglas, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
He was born in Collins county, Texas March 11, 1861. He had resided in Arizona for 30 and in Globe for 16 years. For the past few years he had been retired from active life and for the past year had been at the Gila county general hospital where he passed away Thursday evening of last week.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Estes, Silver City, N.M.; six sons, T.W. and Samuel, Phoenix, Pascal R., New York, S.H. of Eagle Point, Ore., O.D. of Chico, Calif., and Henry Simmons, Miami; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
