JAMES A. DANIEL
James A. Daniel, 68, of Overton died at 5:45 a.m. today at Good Shepherd Hospital following a long
illness. He was a former Kilgore resident.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Radar Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Gillham officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Peebles Cemetery near Goodrich.
Mr. Daniel was born in Teague and was a retired welding inspector. He was a marine during World War
II, was a member of Danville Masonic Lodge #101, the shrine of Houston and Eastern Star Chapter #630 in Kilgore.
Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Scott Daniel, 4 daughters, Portia Wimp, Baton Rouge, LA, Judy Ensminger English, Overton, Dixie Wood, Edmond, Okla. and Shirley Baker, Gladewater; 2 sons Glenn Daniel, Houston and Mike Daniel, Conroe; a sister Dixie Meek, Houston, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. (note: Judy English was James' step-daughter).
