The death of Edward Charles Hopkins, a section employee of the Union Pacific, residing in East Seventh street, occurred at the St. Francis Hospital at 3 a.m. Sunday, following an illness of several weeks. He is survived by a son, Roy H., of this city and five daughters, Mrs. Leata Hatcher, Mary and Stella Hopkins, all of this city, Mrs. Hazel Groenwold, of Cozad, and Mrs. Martha Cheeger, of Chicago. Funeral services were held from the Baumann funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Ford Ellis in charge. Acting as pallbearers were Clarence Hancock, George Sisiney, Mark Kent, R. L. Davis, George Engle and Arthur Davis. Interment was made in the Grand Island cemetery.
