Joan was employed at the former Merchants' National Bank in Aurora for many years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary (Tim A.) Kanive; dear grandchildren, Tim E. (Sarah) Kanive and Andrea (Matt) Rickmon and her cherished great-grandson, Jacob Rickmon.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry L. VanDeventer; parents, William and Margaret Pelling; and brother, Darwin Pelling.
A celebration of Joan and Harry's life will be held together on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 with family and friends meeting at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood for a committal service at 11:00 am.
