CANASTOTA — Mrs. Ida Van Auken Gullerat, 87, of 111 Chapel St., died Weds in Lenox Memorial hospital after being in poor health for several months. Mrs. Gullerat was born in Oswego County, Mar 23, 1868 a daughter of Jacob and Ann Van Auken. She was married to Frederick Gullerat. He died in 1916. For many years throughout the county she was known as a cateress. Surviving are a son Burton Gullerat, a daughter Mrs Elizabeth Feeley, brothers; Frank, Fred, William, Thomas , Howard and Alvin Van Auken. Two sisters Mrs Mary Walts and Mrs Maude Greene. Burial in Sand Ridge Cemetery.

Death Claims Well Known Canastotan
Mrs. Ida Van Auken Gullerat, 111 Chapel St., former well known Madison County cateress, died on Wednesday morning in Lenox Memorial Hospital. She had been in poor health for two months and was 87 years old.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Saturday at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home. The Rev. F. Richard Sinclair, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Sand Ridge cemetery, Phoenix. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon, at their convenience.
Mrs. Gullerat was the widow of Frederick Gullerat who died in 1916. She was born in Oswego County, March 23, 1868, daughter of Jacob and Ann Van Auken. She came to Canastota in 1898, and had resided at her late home since 1916.
Surviving are a son, Burton L. Gullerat, and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Feeley, Canastota; six brothers, Frank Van Auken, Phoenix; Fred Van Auken, N. Syracuse; Thomas Van Auken, Howard Van Auken, Caughdenoy; William Van Auken, Manlius and Alwin Van Auken, Phoenix; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Walts, Syracuse; and Mrs. Maude Green, Caughdenoy; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
