SULLENBERGER RITES
The funeral service for Albert Dice Sullenberger was conducted Saturday morning at eleven o’clock it the Monterey Methodist Church. The Rev. C. H. Beale, pastor of the church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. A. E. Johnson, pastor of the Monterey Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Monterey Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Don Sullenberger, Jr, Joe Sullenberger, Pete Sullenberger. Jack Sullenberger, Sam Sullenberger and Harry Rexrode. Members of Highland County Post No. 4089, Veterans of Foreign Wars, conducted military rites at the graveside and also served as honorary bearers. Friends of the family were invited to assemble at the Fred Henry Funeral Home at 9:15 Saturday morning where a brief service was held before the cortege left for Monterey. Mr. Sullenberger died suddenly at his home on Church Street, Staunton, Thursday morning December 15th about 9 o’clock. The oldest son of Mrs. Mary Dice Sullenberger & the late Mr. Max Sullenberger, he was born and reared in Monterey. Mr. Sullenberger is survived by his wife, the former Miss Crosby, of Augusta County, and three children; his mother, Mrs. Sullenberger; one sister Mrs. Mary Cook, and one brother, Glenn Sullenberger, of Staunton.
