He was a native of Cazenovia and had resided in the Springwater area for more than 30 years. Her served as town supervisor for 12 years. He was also a former Eastman Kodak Co. employe, retiring in 1969.
He was a member of the Warren Patchin Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Springwater United Methodist Church. In recent years he had resided with Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Wolfanger.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Martin of Syracuse, Mrs. Martha Martin of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Mrs. Pearl Pulver of Jamestown; several nieces and nephews including James Gent of Scottsville.
A funeral service was conducted Friday in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Springwater. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springwater Volunteer Ambulance Fund. (GCE, March 27, 1980, p8)
