Louis Robarge, aged 76 years and a pioneer of Rice Lake, passed away Sunday, Oct 14, at his home on West Newton street after a short illness caused by complications resulting from old age. Mr. Robarge was born in Quebec, Canada, June 20, 1852. His family moved to Menomonie 60 years ago and a year later to the vicinity of Dobie, where Mr. Robarge was employed by the Knapp-Stout Lbr. Co. In 1871 he was married to Celimae Demers, who died in 1899. To this union were born fourteen children, four of whom are living: Louis L. of Ladysmith, Alex of St. Paul, Mrs. Phil Robarge and Mrs. Zina Robarge of Alberta, Canada. In 1904 Mr. Robarge married Mrs. Minnie Robarge, and to this union was born a son, Raymond E. of Rice Lake. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning from St. Joseph's church by the Rev. A.J. Van Helden. Interment took place at St. Joseph's cemetery.
The deceased is survived by the widow, three sons, Raymond of Rice Lake, A.C. Robarge of St. Paul, Louis L. of Ladysmith; two daughters, Mrs. Phil Robarge and Mrs. Zina Robarge of Alberta, Canada; two stepchildren; a sister, Mrs. Peter Demers of Rice Lake, and three brothers, George, Lawrence and Alex of Rice Lake.
