Anna Lou Snidow, 82, of Mary Ellen's Elder Care, 284 Bailey Hollow Rd. in Princeton, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her residence. Born July 25, 1930 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Waldo Emerson Ballard and Myrtle Ballard. She was a graduate of Princeton High School and Concord University. Anna Lou was a former Chemist at the Celanese Corporation and then taught Chemistry for Mercer County Schools at Matoaka in the 1950's. She returned to the school system in 1982 following the death of her husband. Anna Lou retired from the Mercer County School System last teaching at Pikeview High School. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Snidow; and one brother, Jennings Ballard. Survivors include one son, Dr. Robert L. Snidow Jr. and wife Sheila of Princeton; and three grandchildren, Jordan Snidow, Trey Snidow, and Kris Anderson.
