George was born to: Bedford Jarvis 'Jarvy' Baumgardner and Iva Francis Baumgardner. George has two brother: Earnest Lee 1908 and Leslie Earl 1913. He married Wilma Celestial Kennedy. They have the following children: George Lawrence, Ray William, Virginia Ruth, "Little" Rue and Charles Benton. He and his family lived in and around Chicago, IL most of his middle years. First, near Chicago he farmed for Federal Judge Barnes, then he was a machinist for International Harvester Coop. for many years. Even after he retired to a farm near Flemington, MO International Harvester would ship him "blanks" to be milled into gears. George was an inventor, after retiring to the farm he designed and built his own silage wagon which had gears and a conveyor to spread the silage across the field. George had a lifelong desire to preach the "Gospel of Jesus Christ" which he did in his later years.
