She married Jesse Quinby Allen on September 4, 1907 in Mt. Morris. She had five children: twins Robert Harlan Allen (Sarah C. Gnagey) and Myrtle May Allen; Ethel Elizabeth Allen Yeakel(John Yeakel), Roy Tice Allen (Vergene H. Kirby, Bly M. Johnson) and Margaret Jane Allen Hollinger Kested (Wayne Hollinger and Everett Kested). She had 12 grandchildren.
Her obituary describes her as follows: "A member of the pioneer Tice family, long prominent in the history of Mount Morris, her entire life was spent in the community of her birth, although she resided with her parents in Forreston for a few years before her marriage.
To know Lelia Allen was to admire her. Her inherent cheerfulness and ability to see the bright side of life, whatever the circumstances, endeared her to everyone with whom she came in contact., and she maintained a youthful spirit until the last. She was particularly fond of young people and they constantly sought her company and advise. A lover of sports, she accompanied her husband on many trips to athletic contests over a wide area and for many years enthusiastically followed Mount Morris high school teams.
She was a member of the Methodist church and was active in the work of the congregation and Sunday school as long as her health permitted. Combined with her church work was a happy home relationship and a family devotion that rounded out a full life". She died in her sleep of a heart attack at age 62.
