Charles Walter Shadwell, 40, 0f 809 North Merchant Street, Effingham, Illinois died at 3 p.m. Wednesday November 7, 1962 at Veterans West Side Hospital, Chicago. He had been a patient there since October 25. An autopsy is being held.

He lived in Effingham nearly all his life.

He was born September 8, 1922 to Louis Sr. and Mary (Arnold) Shadwell in Effingham.

He was a World War II Veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post 120 of Effingham.

Surviving are his parents; four brothers, Roscoe, Louis Jr., Clarence all of Effingham, and a brother Fred of Joliet; also nine nieces, and one great nephew.

The body will be brought to Johnson Funeral Home today where arrangements are being made.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham at 1:00 p.m. November 10, 1962 with Rev. Samuel Pickins officiating.

A full military graveside service by American Legion Post 120 will be held at Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham, where he will be laid to rest in the Veterans section of the Cemetery.
