He had lived in Seneca for 40 years, and was employed in the family furniture, music, and funeral business, the latter with his brother, Bert B. Abbott.
He was a member of Seneca Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was also a life long Mason.
He was survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Abbott Cox of Wahalla, Mrs. Sam (Mertie Abbott) Isbell and Miss Annie Abbott, both
of the home; five brothers, J. S. Abbott of Wahalla, the Rev. H. T. Abbott, Sr. of Springfield, Mo.; Jay M. Abbott, Sr. Liberty, D.S. Abbott, Sr. and Burt B. Abbott , both of Seneca.
Funeral services for Roy Abbott were held Saturday, July 27, 1957 at Seneca Baptist Church by Rev. James P. Stokes and Rev. E.V. Babb.
Burial: Oconee Memorial Park, with Masonic rites at the graveside.
