Doyle Abbott was one of twelve children born to Rev. Wilburn T. & Louisa Alexander Abbott, in Oconee County, SC.

He was a retired merchant and member of Seneca Presbyterian Church.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Davis Abbott; his son, D.S. Abbott, Jr. of Seneca; two brothers, Rev. H.T. Abbott, Sr. of Springfield, MO and Burt B. Abbott of Seneca; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Cox of Wahalla, Mrs. Sam (Mertie) Isbell and Miss Annie Abbott of Seneca; and a granddaughter.

Burt's funeral service was held Monday, October 10, 1966 at Seneca Presbyterian Church, conducted by Revs. J. Allen Johnson and James P. Stokes.

Burial: Oconee Memorial Park near Seneca, SC.
