Lynne was born May 23, 1939 to Anker and Alice Fanoe in San Francisco. She came home to be the 'baby' at the Fanoe Brothers farm in Gonzales, to be raised by not only her parents and siblings, Neil and Georgia Richardson, and Anker 'Sonny' Fanoe Junior, but also by beloved Aunt Ruth 'Booie' Fanoe, Uncle Henry 'Heine' Fanoe and cousins Bobbie Rhodes and Henry 'Tweet' Fanoe Junior, as well as Helen 'Dicko' Thorup.
Lynne attended Gonzales Grammar School to be taught by her Aunt Gussie Heinsen; graduated from Palma High School, and got her AA degree from Hartnell College. After living in Brazil with her first husband, she obtained a nursing certificate.
Lynne, a sweet, loving soul, was very active in her Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Parish as a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, a CCD teacher, President of the Altar Society, and a Eucharist Minister.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey John Contos; sons, Dennis, Ricardo 'Rica' and Carlos 'Dado' Costa; daughter, Debbie Woodruff; grandchildren, Andrew, Mary Elizabeth, Georgia and Yara; 12 nieces and nephews, and her cousin and lifelong friend, Nancy Bunte Spencer.
Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 10am-5pm at Struve and Laporte Chapel with the Vigil Service at 7:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 10am at Sacred Heart with burial following at Gonzales District Cemetery.
