GALVESTON - Bernice Bell Pate, 89, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Nolanville, Texas.
Pate was born September 25,1911, in Oakalla, Texas, to James and Minnie Hubby
Bell.
She attended public schools in Oakalla and Copperas Cove, graduating from
Antelope High School of Killeen with the class of 1928. After graduation she furthered her education at McMurray College in Abilene, Texas. She was a dedicated homemaker, taking care of her family and many friends. She was especially fond of caring for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She was of the Methodist faith.
Proceeded in death by her parents and husband, Wilton O. Pate, Mrs. Pate is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother; numerous
other relatives and many, many friends.
In.lieu of flowers, memorials, may be sent to American Lung Association, the
American Heart Association or charity of choice.
